HIGHLIGHTS
Jesuit Communications invites you to the book launch of THE PARABLE OF THE ELDER BROTHER, an illustrated story book, on Originally written by Fr. Johnny C.Go, SJ, as a Good Friday homily, the story offers a twist to the familiar parable of the Lost Son. Joseph Gotinga's artistic and colorful illustrations make this slim volume attractive reading for the Lenten season. The simple story will help children understand the meaning of Christ's death, and allow adults to ponder life as a journey towards God.
"This is a fascinating story--beautiful, with the beauty of God. It has all of the simplicity and charm of the Gospel. And, like the Gospel, it is a message for everyone." Fr. James B. Reuter, SJ Director National Office for Mass Media
Father Johnny Go's parable of the elder brother is one "which gives the meaning of Jesus"--given to us in a way we will long remember, and to remember--perhaps for the rest of our life. The heart of everyone of us will learn much from it, and (I believe) will come to cherish it. Every parent will come to cherish it. Every parent will want to share it with each son and daughter; every teacher, with his/her class. What a lovely gift Father Johnny has put in our hands, for Holy Week prayer most of all. We can only thank him for it!
Fr. C.G. Arevalo, SJ Professor Emeritus, Loyola School of Theology
