Last Friday, February 17, 2006, we all witnessed a tragedy, a mudslide, which struck our brothers and sisters in St. Bernard, Guinsaungon and in other parts of Leyte. Someone once asked me what the 2004 "vice scene" for our teenaged sons in Xavier would be like. I predict that it will not be much different from what it was for us, when we were growing up a generation ago. Xavier congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Allen Silvano (GS Campus Ministry and Service Office) for the coming of their daughter Ashley Margaret O. Silvano. 
In line with the Sports Center ’s Get-Fit Program, a series of free demo classes was conducted at the Mezzanine of the Fr. Rafael Cortina Sports Center last March 2-3, 2006. 
Last February 17, 2006, Fr. Guy Guibelondo, SJ, Campus Minister, celebrated the first of a series of Friday masses for the remaining weeks of the school year. 
The upcoming Xavier School Golden Jubilee has been bringing about positive feelings of nostalgia within the Xavier community, and this very feeling is the foundation for this school year's fair, aptly entitled LegaXy. 
The Xavier School Student Council and MTV Philippines PRESENT: Hale, Bamboo, Urbandub, Dictalicense, Kjwan, Orange & Lemons and Brownman Revival in this year's annual Xavier School Variety Show, PanaXea. 
We, a group of educators and student leaders from the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines NCR, convened on November 12, 2005 in St. Paul 's College in Pasig City to read, through the lenses of our Catholic faith, the signs of the times. 
Junjun
( Marvin Agustin ), 26, is a newly-ordained deacon. By tradition,
he may now be addressed as “Reverend,” a title that sounds better with
his full name, Christoper Santos, Jr. 
As
announced during our General Assembly last November 17, we will appreciate
everyone's assistance and cooperation in conserving the use of electricity
in Xavier School . Excluding Manpower and Agency expenses, electricity
is Xavier's single largest expense item. 
Fr.
Mena: During the preparation for the 40th anniversary celebration, Fr.
Desautels was interviewed about the origins of the school and I happened
to be present. His stories interested me so much that I said to myself,
“I am going to write the history of the school because if this man leaves
us, it would be a pity if his story will be lost forever.” So, that was
the beginning. 
Upon
the invitation of the Grade School Chinese Department, Sister Shengrong
Liu, L.Ac offered a free clinic to the teachers last Nov. 17, 2005. 
Ah…
books, books, and more books. What would life be without them? I personally
couldn't imagine mine without books, mostly because my life has never
been without books. Since I was a little girl I always had story books
and picture books and even coloring books by my side. 
Reverend
Fr. Johnny C. Go, S.J., Director of Xavier School, received the Wooden
Bell Award from the Chiang Kai Shek High School Alumni Association last
October 26, 2005.

The
Xavier family just keeps on growing. By the end of the first quarter,
two new members have been added to the existing faculty and staff in the
High School Unit. Fr. Zhang Deshun, S.J. has been recently appointed as
Chinese Librarian, while Mr. Ronnil Enriquez has been hired as a Filipino
teacher. 
A
Sunday birthday passed and Monday came, and Mr. Frederick Tiu, our dear
School Treasurer, was customarily going through his workday without any
inkling of what was about to happen that afternoon. 
Xavier
School opened a Leadership Training Seminar to San Juan National High
School (SJNHS) students last September 23-25. The seminar was held in
the building of kindergarten students of Xavier School . It was sponsored
by Harvey Keh of Pathways in cooperation with by Fr. Johnny Go, Xavier
School Director. 
Binigyang

kapwa kabilang sa mga empleyado ng Diar's na naka- aasign dito sa Xavier.
Ang dalawang ginoong ito ay nagsilbing mga mabuting huwaran ng katapatan
at integridad nitong mga nakaraang buwan. 
Gary
. Je. Jerome. James. Kip. Zsa Zsa. These men and women are among the newbies
in the Xavier Community, yet only a few know them. They're not in the
classrooms everyday, they're not in the workrooms most of the time, and
they are not in the usual places in campus where formators and teachers
are seen. 
The
Parent Representatives met up with School Administration one more time,
over a short program and simple dinner held last July 15 at the Multi-purpose
Center. 
What
is a finer way to start using the Xavier Sports Center but to concelebrate
a mass with our School community of Administrators, Faculty, Non-academic
staff, parents, students, and alumni? What's more? This momentous activity
was held on the eve of the feast of St Ignatius de Loyola. 
Xavier
School welcomes the new members of the Xavier Grade School family, the
best and the brightest who will share their knowledge and skills, in the
spirit of “Magis.”
The
Central Administration of Xavier School formally welcomes three charming
and warm ladies this school year 2005-2006!

Ethan
Albano was confined twice at the Philippine Children's Medical Center
(PCMC) in his first two months. Immediately after birth, he was
brought to PCMC to treat his myelo-meningocele, a congenital defect in
the spine in which the thoracic-lumbar part did not close thereby exposing
his spine. 
Take
a glimpse into ten of the new faces in the high school campus. 
where,
as we know, Demzz and Jessica are working as teachers. Actually, that's
no big deal since it happens quite often in Xavier. What is unique about
Demzz and Jessica is that theirs is a match made by students of Xavier
School.
