GS Graduation Speech: Welcome Address

GS Graduation Speech: Xavier Ideals
Mga kamag-aral, ang araw na ito ay simula ng panibagong yugto ng ating buhay. Marahil, marami sa inyo ang tulad kong may halong saya, at kaba ang nararamdaman ngayon. Michael Ignatius Castillo Tan (G7F), Xavier Awardee
GS Graduation Speech: Word of Thanks
We must first thank our school, Xavier School, whose Jesuit education has given us many teachings and opportunities to improve ourselves. HS Graduation Speech: Students’ Response
I believe that everything that we are right now is a result of our Xavier education. Indeed, it is a diverse mix – as if we’re all some sort of amalgamation of different stories, different backgrounds, different lives and ideas. Casey Lim (H4C), XS ’06 Xavier Awardee and Student Council President

Many students have, for a long time, dreamed of marching during their Graduation/Closing Ceremonies. This year the GS Class of 2006 got the chance to fulfill their dreams. PanaXea: A Night to Remember
As I write this, I can’t help but look back at all the things that I had gone through for the past five months. It seems like only yesterday when I started talking in front of one of the fourth-year classrooms to thirty-six unfamiliar faces as I tried to look as confident as possible when in reality, I was silently questioning my own capabilities. Freshmen Chinese Week Activities
Reminiscing the Chinese week, I find that the way the High School celebrates it is quite different. Throughout the week, we in the advanced class engaged in many different activities such as essay writing, Chinese poem writing, song practice and the most exciting, acting as judges in our culminating activity while the regular class students had different activities such as setting up shops and engaging in Chinese discussions with the judges. Howell Yao (H4G), Variety Show Project Head
Perspective
Some people complained about last week’s Chinese week, yet for me, one of those few advanced-class students with a different set of requirements and consequently a different perspective of the whole program, things turned out pretty okay; better than my expectations even. The dwarfish
natives of the Arctic caverns did not speak his language, but conversed

War
of the Worlds: A Chilling War to End All Wars
With
Steven Spielberg's hair-raising take on H.G. Wells' 1898 classic alien
invasion novel War of the Worlds , the summer blockbuster season rolls
on and delivers with such spine-tingling flair and monumental camera work
giving Roland Emmerich's Independence Day a run for its money. Carlo

Elections
What is the
significance of having class officers? We have been having elections since
grade 4, and yet, not all students understand its importance. Javin

Ourselves
As we return

vast number of changes that have been made to our Xavier environment.

Reality
It's
early morning yet I'm still awake, Plagued by croaking roosters heralding

Why
the Flowers in the Ocean
A
long time ago, in a quiet barrio beside the vast ocean, there lived a
fisherman named Ador. He was good and hardworking fisherman. As a child,
he grew up listening to his grandmother Pacita tell stories about how
people should never anger the ocean.

The
GS LRC in Metaphors
Much
is expected of a grade 7 student in Xavier Grade School. Being in the
tansition stage from boyhood to adolescence, a grade 7 enocunters bigger
responsibilities in all facets of his person. He will face tasks that
are more complex and equally difficult. There will be reports to write
and presentations to prepare; projects to accomplish and formation activities
to participate in. There are oodles of opportunities to grow in terms
of leadership roles, sports activities and service interaction. Compiled

Painting
and Making A Difference
As
we look at the world around us, it seems that our environment would need
a lot of help if we want to preserve it. Bombarded by media images of
deforestation, garbage thrown by people wherever they please, we are left
wondering “What can we do?”

Batman
Begins with Brilliance
After
an eight-year hiatus from the utterly infamous disaster of Joel Schumacher's
Batman and Robin in 1997 with George Clooney in the title role, Warner
Brothers has resurrected the Dark Knight in this year's most provocative
and most compelling movie, Batman Begin , a graphic novel-esque look at
billionaire Bruce Wayne and his origins. Carlo Chong (3B), Stallion Managing

Xaverians
Shine in PEMIC
While most Xaverians were relaxing and enjoying the summer break,
delegates to the 2005 Philippine Elementary Math Olympics (PEMIC) were
reaping awards and accolades in Tagbiliran City. The PEMIC was held in
Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City last May 27, 2005. Students all
the way from HongKong and Bulgaria participated in the elementary math
olympiad. The Philippine team emerged victorious in second place.
SC
President's Speech
Good
morning. Every start of the year, I find myself asking:, "I
wonder what the school has in store for us? What are the new guidelines
that I have to follow in order to survive school? How will my teachers
be like as the year goes on? Will I learn anything substantial? Will the
school allow me to really enjoy the year?"

The
End of the Phenomenon - Lucas's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
I
was never one of those kids back in 1977 who got to line up at the Chinese
Theater in Hollywood for the very first screening of Star Wars on May
25 th , nor was I brought up with the ways of the Force until The Phantom
Menace was released in 1999. Carlo Chong

I
Choose Kiko
Before
last school year ended I was given two exciting choices for the summer:
one from my parents and one from my grandfather. First, my parents
suggested sending me to go to Hong Kong for three months, work there at
my aunt's company, and earn a hefty salary. Second, my grandfather
offered me a two week vacation to Baden-Baden, Germany, where I would
stay with his friend in the most posh area of that city and get a two-week
culinary course from the Peninsula chefs. Both of these offers were
extremely enticing, and it was indeed tough to choose.

Kingdom
of Heaven: An Epic Knight's Tale
Officially
kicking-off this year's blockbuster season is director Ridley Scott's
( Gladiator , Black Hawk Down ) sweeping historical epic Kingdom of Heaven
that boasts an awesome-looking cast and an incredible production team,
yet lacks a trivial amount of character juice that made Gladiator and
Braveheart instant movie classics.
