Computer Education to Beginners
For
the past 3 years the H4 students have been offering free Basic Computer
Training program to parents, helpers and drivers during their computer
education classes. This is part of their Computer Practicum Program (CPP)
wherein students instead of having their usual classroom instruction undergo
special activities. By Jessica

Series of Unfortunate Events: A Movie Review
What
inspires filmmakers to make a movie based on popular books or best selling
novels? It may be the promise of big bucks on its commercial success,
or it must be that the novel's theme is so universal and lasting it is
worthy of interpretation via another art form.

Paano
By Liza Bacuyag,

pa lang ako'y hilig ko na talaga ang magturo. Pagkakain ng hapunan, tinatawag
ko ang dalawa kong nakababatang kapatid at tatlong pinsan. Dinadala ko

paaralan. By Harris Albert Guevarra
Chinese
Week 2005: A Recap
The
rousing program held during the launching of the Chinese week last January
31, 2005 was followed by a week-long celebration where students enjoyed
a fun-filled day renewing ties with their Chinese culture. What's new
this year is the participation of Chinese Star Movies in the line-up of
grade level activities. By Jessie

EED
'Chers Give Service to the "Yayas"
LFor
the past 4 years, EED teachers have been conducting seminars for the yayas
of Nursery and Prep students. This training program was born out of the
realization that secondary caregivers play very significant roles in the
lives of our Xavier boys for they spend a great deal of time with one
another. By

Demistifying
the Xavier Awardees
Last
week, while the Grade School community was hot on the campaign for every
one's cooperation and participation to nominate this school year's Xavier
Awardees, students and teachers in grade 7 were witnesses to a most interesting
visitation yet. Past Xavier Awardees, who are now all in high school,
were invited as resource speakers to talk about this prestigious citation
in each grade 7 class. By

Teachers
on the Go at the Field
Can
you imagine teachers having fun under the sun on a school day when they
are supposed to be checking papers or preparing their lessons? Some students
may have the idea that teachers don't know how to have fun or they're
the people who suck the life of everything that is fun. Last January 12,
their teachers proved them wrong. By

Out
of the Fishbowl
I
now regard our Nursery students with greater pride and admiration. I marvel
at how much they have grown and matured since their first day in Xavier
School . They came in clutching the hands of their mommies and daddies,
unsure of what to expect in a big school such as Xavier. By

Making
Christmas Happen
12.
11. 2004. Shangri-la. Robinson's Galleria. SM Megamall. Unimart. As shoppers
were busy completing their gift list, a group of student and teacher volunteers
welcomed each one of them with a smile and a piece of paper saying: Sagip
Pasko: Feast of the Poor…making Christmas happen. What can they say about
this X(mas)perience? Collected

Very Special Gift
Last
Book Week, Teacher Des, a Prep teacher in the EED received a special gift
from her student. She shares this special moment when everyone in her
class learned and benefited from the gift that was intended for her.

The Polar Express
The
children's book by Chris Van Allsburg is a simple story of how a young
boy holds on to his belief that Santa Claus exists despite his friend's
contradictions. As he he lay quietly in bed on Christmas Eve, hoping to
hear the sound of ringing bells from Santa's sleigh, he hears instead
the sound of a train stopping outside his house. By

kong magnilay.

Behold I am with You till the End of Time
At
last, the dream of having an outreach ministry with the aged materialized
with the launching of our first meeting last Saturday, October 16.
The day started with getting to know the men of Old Folks, a home for aged
Chinese.

We are in a fast paced generation—an MTV

the internet and other means that virtually put everything on our fingertips.

Teacher's Thoughts on Appreciation Day
Good morning to everyone. Today is a day
devoted to showing appreciation to our teachers. We are all gathered
here in the gym, and, as in the past years, the students perform numbers
for the teachers, greet them "Happy Appreciation Day!" and give
them various tokens of appreciation. By

A-Day,
My Day
As a new teacher, I did not know what to
expect of the Appreciation Day. It started out as a regular assembly in
the EED but when the boys started performing one by one, everyone got
so excited. Even the Prep and Nursery boys could not contain themselves.

Ministering
to the Elderly
When one is asked which outreach ministry
he would like to involve himself in, he would probably choose the orphanage,
and the reasons are obvious: little children are cute, innocent
and docile. But who would ever volunteer to work in the home for the aged? By
