Forever Seems Only Further
How
often could one find music that somewhat truly captured one's eelings?
Only a few musical artists could touch a person's heart and make one cry
inside one way or another. Chris Carrabba, whose solo career is more popularly
known as “Dashboard Confessional,” has been one of the artists whose careers
are rapidly rising in the music scene these past few years because of
his deeply, heart-felt lyrics and his emo-acoustic type of music.

Special Alternate Projects
As
early as the start of the 3rd quarter, Ms. Jessica Junio, the H4 computer
teacher, appointed Michael Cu, H4B's class president, to head one of the
biggest projects of the class this year: an IT Quiz bee for freshmen students.

Bagged with Compassion
Way
before the immersion, I was already very excited for it. I was already
trying to picture myself bagging groceries at SM. I couldn't wait for
the immersion to come. The orientation, apart from adding to the excitement,
tantalized me because I would still have to wait for two weeks before
the immersion. By Carlos Locsin,

Death
of Classical Music
Classical
music used to dominate all forms of culture; it was alive, vibrant, and
very worthwhile, but now, it has shifted into reverse, especially in the
eyes and ears of the new generation. Accordingly, the youth of today no
longer favors classical music because it is simply too old, too serious,
and thus boring for them. By
Michael Cu, H4B
Last Few Drops
Water,
the life-giving element that surrounds almost seventy five percent of
the earth, is silently crying out for help to us for it is currently dying.
Not anymore is the earth beautiful and majestic with its crystal clear
waters like before. Humans have transformed it into a polluted and hideous
place filled with pitch black rivers and lakes.
By Daryl Uykieng, H4B
Waves of Sorrow
In
the recent large-scale earthquake occurring at the bottom of the ocean
last December 26, 2004, a tsunami caused more than two hundred and seventy
thousand lives to be lost and more missing in Southern Asian countries.
The hardest hit were Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Thailand. By

The
Phantom of the Opera
Andrew
Lloyd Webber's most classic theatrical musical has finally gotten the
cinematic treatment in the Joel Schumacher ( Phone Booth , Tigerland
) film, The Phantom of the Opera . With the current surging
onset of musicals, from the Oscar-nominated Moulin Rouge , and
the Oscar-winning Chicago , never has the time been perfect for
the renowned composer to unleash his beloved play onto the silver screen.

A Crusader's Pilgrimage to Heaven
We
were all excited as we boarded the bus heading for our pilgrimage to Tagaytay.
The teachers had a hard time keeping us quiet. The noise died down after
we boarded. To start off, the teachers told us to pray the Rosary before
leaving. It's the best way to start our pilgrimage. By

Xavier Songwriter's are "In the Light Once More"
In the beginning
of the school year, one of the concerns of some members was that although
they could write beautiful lyrics and melodies, they were not exceptional
performers. To assuage the members' fears, it was emphasized that songwriting
is an art form in itself and that it was perfectly acceptable for them
to call on others to interpret their composition.

I
Need You from the Xavier Songwriters' Guild
The
Xavier Songwriters' Guild is a newly organized club
which aims to develop in students the art of songwriting. One of its sessions
this year focused on the importance of a song's melody. The concept of
“hook” in a song was discussed, and the club members seem to have captured
that stuck-in-my-head element in their original song I Need
You.

Youth
Once United (YOU), Rule!
"The youth of today holds the future",
sounds familiar? Many successful people have used this quote in their
speeches, from heroes and leaders, to our teachers in school. Although
some people may say this simple quotation is all too common, we can say
that it is not a cliché. By Kurt

Eternal
Gratitude
Blind, that was what I was before. Specifically,
I was blinded by selfish dreams, earthly desires and self-pleasuring desires.
Alas, I lived a life struggling with myself. Also my life was filled with
darkness and shadowy pasts, and the miserable truth was I barely fought
it. How foolish I was to live such a life, a life only for myself. Was
this the source of this emptiness I used to feel? Obviously the school
answer to this life crisis would be to change. By

More than ten thousand people were killed.
Thousands of lives shattered but the United States of America never hindered
themselves from attacking a very little country in the Middle East . Some
people say that Bush wanted vengeance since the US lost in the 1990 Gulf
War but others claim that the US wanted to emblazon their power to the
whole world. By Erwin Yap (H3C), Stallion

most of the day handwriting my Creative Synthesis, copying the draft I
made on the computer, I decided to take a break. No, not by eating a bar

a fourteen inch New York Classic with lots of pepperoni and smothered
with even more cheese. By

a world filled with hatred and loath, Hollywood seeks to bring its audience
